Rooted in the long standing traditions and universal values of the Catholic faith, Marian Preparatory Academy, Inc. (MPA) is dedicated to providing a superior educational experience for young women. Please join us in creating a strong foundation for our school and consider joining one of the following committees. This is a fabulous opportunity for fellowship and to share your skills and expertise. Our Steering Committee has already developed many of the roles below; we are looking for additional volunteers to collaborate with.
Marketing
- Create social media content and assist with managing social media posts on multiple platforms
- Identify most critical marketing platforms to target
- Assist with development of image and identify
- Develop and communicate monthly goals MPA should work to accomplish
- *Seeking a volunteer with previous professional marketing experience
- Time Commitment: approximately 2-3 hours per week
Fundraising
- Assist with approximately 4 smaller fundraisers throughout the year (examples of previous MPA fundraisers include basket raffles and the selling luminaries for the Light the Way campaign)
- Seek donations from the community through phone calls and/or in person visits (restaurants, businesses, etc.)
- Create flyers to promote fundraisers
- Develop new initiatives to access revenue for MPA
- Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week
Event Planning
- Assist with one or both of the larger annual fundraiser events – one in spring, one in the fall (examples include annual Bull & Oyster Roast)
- Assist with securing location for events
- Assist with accessing food & beverage
- Coordination of volunteers and logistics on the days of the events
- Coordination with MPA fundraising committee to access donated items for raffles, door prizes, etc.
- Coordination of ticket sales
- *Seeking a volunteer with previous professional event planning experience
- Time Commitment: Variable. Increased hours when preparing for annual fundraisers events. Much of the planning for this year’s spring event is already underway. We’d like help with implementing the event.
Community Service
MPA is dedicated to creating a learning environment that values and embraces community commitment and outreach. We are modeling this commitment now, even before the school has opened.
- Assist with 4-5 yearly community service events (examples of previous MPA service activities: Sock Collection for The Helping Up Mission, Casseroles for St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, Birthday Bags and Annual Food Drive benefiting the Baltimore County Student Network)
- Identify organizations to receive donations/service
- Create flyers for community service events
- Participate in annual food drive in the fall
- Assist with coordination of service-learning hours for high school students
- Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week
